This model was "Lyle's golden syrup" which had a green body, white roof and black chassis, brown seats with either chrome or gold plated wheels, This version was made in Macau and it had the horizontal dividing line removed from the side of the van body to accommodate the Lyle's tampo. Shop here

For 1984 saw the "Dunlop" liveried Talbot join the range, It has a black body & chassis with a yellow roof and pale yellow or yellow 12 spoke wheels with either brown or black seats. It had a chrome plated grille and windscreen frame and it was packaged in a limited edition box.

Such is the success of the Ford Transit that its name has almost become the British word for light commercial vehicles. As a model name or even perhaps a sub brand within Ford it has outlived all its contemporaries such as the Escort Cortina or Granada. Often sold as `Transit the Backbone of Britain' (at one point Ford even produced T-shirts with that slogan written vertically down the wearer's spine) it shows no sign of dying yet. Bazooka Gum was launched just after the WWII and is best known for the character Bazooka Joe who appeared in comic strips enclosed in the packets. Shop here
